Pastoral Transition Update

After years of faithful leadership, Trinity Presbyterian Church is entering a season of pastoral transition as our founding pastor, Jonathan Kerhoulas, prepares to step into a new calling in Nashville.

Since Trinity was planted in 2019, God has been abundantly kind to our church. What began as a vision to bring the hope of the gospel into the heart of San Diego has grown into a healthy, unified, and diverse church community marked by deep relationships, meaningful discipleship, and a love for our city.

As we enter this next chapter, we do so with gratitude for Pastor Jonathan’s leadership, confidence in God’s continued faithfulness, and excitement for what lies ahead. Trinity remains financially healthy, missionally-focused, and deeply committed to proclaiming and embodying the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We are already in the process of seeking the next Lead Pastor — someone who loves Jesus deeply, teaches the Scriptures faithfully, shepherds people with humility and compassion, and will help lead Trinity further into the mission God has called us to in San Diego and beyond.

We invite you to pray with us during this season:

  • For wisdom and unity throughout the search process

  • For Pastor Jonathan and his family in their new calling

  • For the future pastor and family God is preparing

  • And for Trinity to continue growing as a church that loves Christ, one another, and our city well

We believe the work has always belonged to Jesus, and he will continue to faithfully lead his church.
