“We were newlyweds on lock down, which meant disagreements and the challenges of forgiveness and reconciliation.”

“Coming off the high from our wedding and honeymoon at the end of February 2020, we thought our biggest newlywed challenge would be organizing our home since Bo had just moved in. We were excited to start our married life together and settle into a new rhythm of life. How could we have known what was coming? In one chaotic week Young lost his job, the Stay At Home order was announced, and Bo’s new commute to work was reduced to walking to the dining room table. We were newlyweds on lock down, which meant disagreements and the challenges of forgiveness and reconciliation, all while being “glued to the hip” for an indefinite amount of time.

Yet, despite the challenges, God has reminded us of how overwhelmingly good he is. We are cultivating our marriage in a way that is made possible because of the amount of time we get to spend together. We are learning to respect each other’s needs for space and self-care, to make occasions special, and to remember to be grateful. And God provided a wonderful job for Young when others were losing theirs.

While it could be so easy to focus on all the negative things that are happening, God continually reminds us of his faithfulness and kindness.”
